Leo Samberger (1861 - 1949), honorary member of the Münchner Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Munich Academy of Visual Arts), was known for portraits and historical scenes in a naturalistic, post-Impressionist style. Dasio made several medals to honor him, including one to memorialize his engagement (Weber, pp. 41-42, and 91-92).
