Obverse : Death with clenched fists, walking through the sea towards England over which hovers a Zeppelin partly obscured by clouds. In border, "U 22 — L 19 —England — Das Mass ist volt" (The cup is full).

Reverse:: Inscription below German flag, "Exoriare aliquis nostris exossibus ultor." (An avenger of our dead shall arise). Inked museum accession number above flag.
