  • Maximilian Dasio.  1907. 

    GEORG・HITL・SCHROBENHAVSEN・AETATIS・SVAE・XLIV・AD・MCMVII❀ (Georg Hitl, Schrobenhausen, in the year of his age 44, AD 1907).  Cast bronze, highly polished reddish patina, 71.81 mm, 114.74 g.  Vorzüglich (extremely fine), patina abraded on two areas of rim.

    Obverse: Profile portrait bust in collar, coat and tie to left, filling field; stencil-cut title legend encircling edge. 

    Reverse: Two mint workers at left and right leaning against a ball-drive screw coining press, worker at right examining medal held with both hands; legend NON VIDERI FA — CERE BONVM — FACERE HONOS ( ? ) broken by image as indicated encircling edge above blank exergue; artist's signature ・M・DAƧIO・ on foot of press; blank border connecting with exergue at edge.

    Georg Hitl (1863 - 1923) was owner of the Carl Poellath Mint in Schrobenhausen, Bavaria.  This mint produced  numerous medals, both cast and struck, for a number of German, and especially Bavarian, medallists.
